Thread: 28mm 15th century knight and ACW Confederate officer

David I go with a black undercoat then paint the armour with Vallejo plate mail metal. When finished I give them a good coat of Army Painter quick shade then finish with a dull varnish coat. I recently found that a spray varnish by GW reacts badly with the shade coat. These are a reasonable table top standard.

Hi David, they really do look superb. I'm half way through painting the boxed set of foot knights, the Perry miniatures are a real pleasure to paint, so much detail in a small figure. Only 20 more smiley

I too am firmly in the no camp. Its nice to be able to finish and show a build without having the added pressure of it being judged, its what makes this modelling community so good.

Thread: 120mm French General of Dragoons

Thanks Peter, I only do them as a fill in when I need to take a break from bigger stuff. It goes back to my gaming days. I just pick up cheap sprues with a couple of figures on to try something different, if I don't like them its only a couple of pounds spent.

That really is superb Peter, they simply just get better. Here's one of his mini men I'm working on, he's 28mm though.
