10/10 Andy for not giving up on this monster. I'm sure it would make a saint swear. Just keep going now and don't scuttle it.

Peter, Bobby, Steve, John and Scottie, many thanks for your kind words. Not much progress today but I did manage to finish up painting some 88mm rounds. SWMBO is off down south for a couple of days so in between night shifts I'm hoping to make a start on the hull weathering for the Tiger and also add Otto and another tank commander to the scene.

Some more progress on this one. Rest of crew painted now just sorting out their final positions and some finishing touches to the kubelwagon.

Thread: AK skin and Flesh

I thought I'd give this set a try as I continue my battle with face painting. I again opted for a wet pallet and started. The base coat was ok if a little dark then two lighter colours. These were ok but then the shadow colours. I started applying the first shade but it looks like red oxide. It looked nothing like the sbs on the box. In the end I re based the face and have started again. Has anyone else used these paints and if you did did you mix something into the shade colours?

Hi John, just having a catch up after a few days away. Totally agree with what's already been said, I found this group when trawling for something and am so glad I did. The time has flown by but the regular gang are always available to answer the dumbest of questions even though in private laughing at them. It's good to see new members joining the throng and others coming out of hiding when they pluck up the courage. I've had loads of help both on here and bits supplied to help various projects. Long may this continue.

Hi Steve, there was good news today when I got back from York, the very expensive nozzle had arrived and has gone on ok as I was worried about thread damage.

Hi Chris

I've just had a very enjoyable catch up with your build. When swmbo asked me why I enjoy modelling so much, is it relaxing? I just laughed and said yep most relaxing hobby I know disgust right up to the point where you open the box and start. Some great experiments with the anti slip, I'm just so glad we're surrounded by a large group of very experienced modellers for when the going gets tough.

Hi Scottie, no idea what happened mate, I was just screwing it back in when it dropped, its only when I picked it up I realised it was shorter. Sjors, why not mate its not a massive kit in part terms so go for it. Sean, I don't know how old this one is I picked it up from flea bay for not a lot. I'm not sure about my colour choice as its by far the most intricate I've tried, but nothing ventured.

Thanks to the input from our professional wingy people the flappy bits on the wings are now set correctly laugh

Thanks for that Andy, can they both be level? Not being a flying person the instructions just show angles not the technical side.
