Hello,

I realise I may be opening a can of worms here, but this is a question which has been on my mind due to current events.
My question is:
Has air power alone ever defeated a guerilla or irregular army since 1947?
I cannot think of any examples, but modern history is not my area of interest.

Thread: Flat/Mattcoat help
25/11/2015 12:11:10

Hi Mike,

Please don't worry, this is easily fixed.
Make sure your varnish is thoroughly mixed, thin the varnish and give the model another coat of thinned varnish, repeat as necessary.

Mke

Thread: A Simple Question of Height.
14/08/2015 14:18:21

Hi Nick,

I think the height of the signal is not an issue as it is the story. I think everyone in the scene needs to be looking towards the kite.
This Dragon set would work:

Hi Richard,

Good questionthumbs up
The usual tricks are to scale trees down vertically and to cut buildings off along the line of a feature such as a ledge or a shop sign.

Thread: Armour models
22/06/2015 22:12:19

Hello,

Good News!teeth 2
I spoke to Steve yesterday at Duxford. Steve and Armour Models is still going strong. The company which hosted his website ceased trading, which has left him without a website until he builds a new one with a new web hosting company.
In the meantime Steve can be contacted at:

Thread: Lead Sled models
08/06/2015 23:51:36

Hi Si,

You're welcometeeth 2
the figures were never released separately, but a complete set surfaced, for sale, on another modelling site recently. It would be worth checking eBaythumbs up

Hi Si,

Lead Sled kits were ahead of their time featuring white metal, resin and photo-etch. I have built a few Lead Sled kits, one as box art and each one was excellent.
The photo from Crete which you posted was recreated in a limited edition set with the Morris from Lead Sled and figures sculpted and cast by Ulrich Puchala.
These are my top tips:
Follow the instructions carefully, as some of the kits will not build unless you follow the instructions sequence.
Use good quality super glue or better still epoxy resin such as Araldite.
When picking up any of the Morris models, like yours, is to put a finger under the chassis to support the weight.

Thread: Sad News as Gary Williams has passed away...
02/06/2015 14:36:14

I'm sorry to hear that news, please pass on my condolences to Heather and his family.
Gary's good humour and record keeping were phenomenal. Several times over the years my membership had lapsed when I had moved home, sometimes for many years and each time when I rejoined he would ask my name and instantly ask "Did you live at such-and-such an address?" and reactivated my membership.

Thread: spray booth filters
31/05/2015 18:02:37

Hi Jim,

Just put the filters in your washing machine on a cool wash and they come out like new. Hang them up to dry, they may need stretched back to shape, but I have been using the same two filters for years.
Cutting fibreglass rings alarm bells with me and I would avoid that.
