Hi Ron

On the base overhaul they look like they get a coating of a tan primer with some bits getting grey. I would imagine this is just for tan coloured vehicles though.

I think the early N0 38 infantry radio was not compatible with the No 19. I think the frequencies gaped each other. So a FOO working with infantry and armour would need the extra set. Same would also apply to armour infantry co-operation.
