David,

Another Piccy classic mate thumbs up. Good idea to put the scientist up on the gantry, ties the bell in with the discussions below. Should be an eye catcher . If you are entering it in shows, think the Swatika background needs a touch up where it meets the Red smiley.

John.

muchos gracias John!

yes, the gantry looked a bit empty to my eyes, I did think about another ET next to the scientist in discussions, but decided less is more.

You're right- my pics have revealed a few areas that need touching up. I will do that- but I won't post more pics showing the final results...

Lovely work David - another classic! An unusual subject, beautifully rendered and good fun.

Thanks Pete- appreciated.

I've been deliberately doing more conventional subjects this year- but I indulge myself in this one.

My pride is that really the whole thing is scratch built. I did use some heads and boots from plastic kits for Hitler and Kammerer, although even those bits are adapted from putty. I used some cylinders from an Italeria field accessory set for the Xerum 525 modules. I also used some sections from plaststruct for the gantry, but overall its a model that came completely out of my head and owes nothing to manufacturers...

'lots to enjoy' - well that's as about as good as I could hope! I often think we modellers are locked into our own projects to the exclusion of others...

thanks John....

A nice end to this thread- it got gold in the fantasy diorama section at Telford. I'm pleased because it was more of a picky production than the other models I did this year, that I thought might be crowd pleasers...

Evening David,

Great news and kudos for the gold! After seeing it at the Euro, I thought it should have at least won a Silver, if not gold. Just the idea alone is worth a medal, let alone all the work you put into it! Still my fave Picky piece.

Prost

Allen
