Hi Peter

Thanks for the plug ref the Sikh yet again......I thought that I posted on this earlier.....must have dropped out?

For the Sikh I didn't invent anything, I used the tutorial on coolminiornot.com . Does all sorts of skin tones, and all in Vallejo. 😉 For cool and warm areas I used a small book by Windsor and Newton on oil paint that I got ages ago...all a bit like painting by numbers.

Great stuff as usual by the way....not sure I like the expression on the IJN pilot though, looks a little typecast.

Cheers

Tim

Thanks for looking in chaps, and Tim, stop being so modest!

As for the IJN figure, he was sculpted and made in Singapore by South East Asian people (I think Calvin Tan), so I don't think we can really accuse them of a dodgy depiction - perhaps our Western sensitivities coming into play? I just think he looks like a happy chap with a lot of character (not aware of what he's about to let himself in for!).

Cheers,

Peter.

A bit toothsome perhaps, but I like him!

Hi Peter

Partisan is another superb figure. Japanese guy is great. Like Si said he does look 'pantomime-ish' although as usual you can't fault your painting.
