Good day chaps,

Well I must say a snow day home with the kids allowed me to finish my 1st ever 1/72 build and it was extremely fun! I am a fan indeed. I'm going to look for a few more German aircraft.

I gotta find the tail swastika, she looks naked! Also I was going to do my 1st ever winter camo wash but I was so happy w how it turned out that I didn't want to chance it..."courage the dawg" I am not! Also just a quick makeshift photo op, I'll work on a base later. And a few minute touch ups I discover!

Few changes...had to reverse the '2' & the 'B' as the 'B' seemed to big and would not settle on the running gear! Like I stated I will never try for historical accuracy it's just not my cup of tea! Being stateside I am fascinated with the slang the members have used and am now often during builds putting the 'kettle' on frequently. I am amazed at how many different patterns there were on these STUKAS!!! I also had to drill in the wings the holes for the armament as there weren't any! And lastly, I gave up trying to get that tiny piece of clear glass in the wing...I knew this from several others who said they had same issue! These pics are just iPhone quickies,I'll set up proper photo booth in time! I have to add the underside pic it is way cool IMO!

I might attempt a few more for the SSGB17???

But on day 6, and I did not plan 4 it, the 1st SSGB17 is in the books!

I went deep into the boxed archives (Basement) and searched diligently, I knew since packing these relics up there was still something missing. Something I had not seen in a very long time. I relocated from Dallas about 14 years ago, and went to an auction of a hobby shop that was closing its doors around 99-2000! I bought as many displays and kits as I could sneak by the guard (wife). She said 'what is all this crap?" I replied, 'just treasure for the future.'

Well I found at least 10 built tank dios! But this is a tale for another post...what was located are the tail swastikas to complete the STUKA. So here are the final pics...oh,did I mention I found 2 more 1/72 plane kits...a Bf 109!!!

Colin,

Don't forget to add some photos into the "SSGB17 Finished Builds" album for the end of GB photo feature.

You should be able to find it here.
