Hi all

Now that my BA-6 Armoured Car is getting near to completion I feel able to make a start on my contribution to this Group Build.

The Soviet Aerosans were small vehicles mounted on skis and driven by a rear mounted propeller. They were first developed before WW1 by Igor Sikorsky who went on to design aeroplanes and helicopters. Over the years the design was improved and the NKL-16/41 was used during WW2, primarily for reconnaissance and light raiding. It could operate in deep snow and could tow ski troops.

Not a lot in the box but what there is looks detailed and cleanly moulded and although you have to provide your own clear sheet for the windows they do give you some PE face 20

For the 'troops' I bought these.

Now these were a surprise. First off the figures are split down the centre line with the head on one side.

They are reckoned to be 'no glue assembly' but I will cut off the locating pins and glue them. The second surprise was just how detailed they are and how well they go together. I have just done one so far.

Zvezda is really going to town with the 1/72 figures. I have some in the stash and was impressed. Love the Aerosan. Doing the windows yourself is good for you! smiley

This going to be interesting for both the figures and the Aerosan yes
I am glad you're doing this one, since it came to my mind as well, but then I opted for something different.
Will be following with great interest

Hi all

Thanks - always nice to have friends along.

Couple more of the figures put together and they are just as nice as the first one.

Even the gun is detailed nicely - anyone know what sort of Russian gun it is? It looks a bit like one of those that you see gangsters in America using in the Al Capone era face 20 Rotten photo - sorry.

Just to show the size.

Anyone making silly comment about the guy being chased by a giant penny will be sat on the naughty step!! face 20
