So the first coat of vermillion red along with some orange red and black and dark red for the bricks.. no mortar yet and I am planning on sifting some very fine grey stone dust that I’ve found in a parking lot.. have to keep sifting the stone with fine screen to get the right fine dust.

Hey Joe, That is a tasty paintjob and weathering you have done of that truck/halftrack. Very cool.

Hi Joe

How I missed this I don't know but apologies for not commenting before. Just caught up from the start. The weathering on the half track is very nice indeed and the base you are making will really set it off. That chopper looks a nice piece of kit. I wasted my money on a cheap one which is too flimsy to be much use.

I shall keep a closer eye on this from now on.

Jim

Wonderful work on the gate. Does it come with the obligatory squeak or have the hinges been oiled?face 20

I see you have been to JR's school of plastering. Terrific work. The base coat for the road looks fine. Should come up a treat.

Great update - well done mate.

Steve

Thanks John, Scottie, William, Jimbo and Steve for following along.

Steve, I hear the squeaking and creaking of the gates,, well maybe it’s not the gates but more my old knees when I get up from the workbench 😖😖

I’ve not made a final decision on the color of the cobbles yet.. considering going to more grey now that I have placed the mortar in the joints on the road and sidewalks.

Comments are welcome on which road to take.. (leave as is with the red or switch to greys) ....no pun intended

Hey Joe, ('where you goin' with that gun in your hand'

Sorry Buddy, had a Deep Purple/Hendrix flashback there for a minute.....

Whichever color you end up making the cobbles, is up to you. The work is absolutely incredible Sir! The whole base is a work of art. Have you decided where the dio will finally take place yet? Here in Bamberg, the cobbles would be gray and the joints darker in color also. Keep it coming!!!!

Prost

Allen
