I have started yet another young miniature 1/10 bust. I am not sure but I think this bust portray's a real person? when I started my research I found a few pictures of a Navy Seal who was killed in combat in 2005 . A movie was made of this mission that only had one survivor, rightfully called the Lone survivor. the person I think it was made to look like could be LT. Michael Murphy Navy Seal who was killed in Jan 28th, 2005.

The description on the young miniatures website says this is a Navy Seal Afghanistan 2005. (so the place and date correspond the LT. Murphy.) he looks (in my opinion) a lot like this Hero. even the patch on his shoulder is the one used on the bust .What do you gentlemen think about if this is made form a real person or not?

Now all I have done is clean it up primed the head and done most the shadows and the hair. just got a few pictures so far so open to your opinions.

That's a nice figure Rick and you've made a great start.

A lot of the bust manufacturers depict actual people, though I would assume they don't name all of them living for copyright reasons. As for 'Lone Survivor', well I didn't know that the human body could be shot that many times and survive!

Rick

One of the best war films ever and its incredible, as Peter says, how much the human body can take in warfare. He certainly was beaten up a lot. Looking good with the facial features. Loo forward to seeing him come together

Peter, it was very crisp mold lines and seems going to be real nice to paint.

Steve, was a good movie and yes the power of survival can make you endure so much more than we think..

Just put more colors on the face is all I got done so far today. Wednesday's start my two job days work 645 am till 10 am then 245 pm till 4 on my first job then 8pm till 1 am on my second so updates will be slow till sunday.

Hi Rick,

Great figure to work on. The initial base highlight colours look good for a start.

Cheers,

Richard

It does look a really good bust, I think it could be depicting someone but there are enough differences that I wouldn't be so sure it was them.

I don't have an issue with actual people being depicted whether famous or otherwise.

Richard, Hooch, Peter. thanks for your kind words. I have had this bust for awhile and just now decided to try my hand at it. Peter the undertones is still a process for me I seem to glaze them over most the times so I'm working slower and with less glaze. Hope it comes out (I will take so so lol). I got home at 130 am tonight and decided to give it a few glazes. here is tonight's progress. I Also wanted to portray the Velcro pieces on the shoulders for the patches. I dotted several different colors onto them to get the look right . to me it will work.

Peter, I think I can always manage the undertones but I seem to fall short of the highs and blending

seems to be to much and ends up almost one color and muddied so to speak.

Well I think I did it again I over glazed ( I think ) but I will let you guys be the judges

I think my photos are in the wrong order .
