And a little dry fit for fun

need to sand the join lines later tonight

Fine work John. I've always loved the look of the Beaufighter - sleek and powerful.

Cheers Si - it's a Tammy kit it just fell together - last year I only completed a couple of models

Just recently the bad weather meant I've had more time than usual wink 2

Peter - many thanks, yes the shape grabbed my attention in the shop.......Pilots not quite to your standards though, glad they're inside blush

Hi John

Very nice indeed! Can you answer a question? Did you brush paint the cock pit green? If so did you use a primer or just layers of the green paint??

I had a brush painting disaster on my mk 1 spitfire cockpit. I have stripped the paint so do not want another one lol

Many thanks Bob

Afternoon chaps

Mr Court - the interior was airbrushed - first with AV white primer and then with Tamiya XF5:1 + XF21:3 + XF65:1

This is the mix ration in the instructions

Even when I use a brush I always paint on a primer coat - normally Tamiya XF2 (White) or AV light grey primer straight from the bottle - gives the next coat a base

Thanks Fenando - wait no more face 20

Tamiya are ever so nice and give you a 1:1 template page - I trimmed the shapes with a new scalpel and spent this morning masking - I used a finger to hold the masks down whilst spraying to stop the paint going underneath

Then the great unmasking ceremony began only the left-hand tail section tape lifted - nice easy fix though?

Not too bad

Just plonked on for piccies

Just added the props and rockets for some pics

Base colour XF59 + XF60 50/50 Camo colour is XF64 + XF52 again 50/50 (I did add 20% X22 gloss to the mixes for all the paints)

The bottom colour is X16:3 + XF2:10 + XF18:5 supposed to be Azure blue?

I'm quite happy so far - once she's dried thoroughly I'll mask off the engine cowls for the exhausts and dark copper colour
