100_1551.jpgBack to this project, and the head is done:

Yet another great head from Dragon - loads of character and well defined detail. As with Skorzeny's helmet, the eagle insignia was moulded, but the tricolour had to be painted freehand. The photos of the real people seem to show that they deliberately smeared their helmets with mud, so I've tried to replicate that.

Gary - Welcome aboard!

Rick - Many thanks. This is my optimal scale really.

Richard - Hi. I've done the other two Dragon Fallschirmjagers, and one, as you say is OK but a bit static, and the other leaves quite a lot to be desired - undersized and poorly detailed. This is way better than both.

John - wink.

Sorry about the double post.

I've now painted the bone sack:

The finish is still very shiny and will need a coat of matt varnish. Painting the jump suit was immensely enjoyable - Dragon have done a brilliant job with the folds and creases. I painted the haversack in situ, as I'd had to make some adjustments and glue it in place to ensure a proper fit.

Peter.
