So I've been working on a new diorama and as these things typically go, my ideas change as the process leads me. And so I have come to decide that this will take place during the german surrender in Aachen 1944. Initially the building was going to be a single story with roof section, just something to change the levels for visual interest (bearing in mind this was only meant to be a smaller piece) however I was having trouble coming to terms with the fact that this didn't reflect the aesthetic of the city and its towering infrastructure. And so I decided to extend it another level and add a steep roof, but my worry is that this may have unbalanced the piece. So my questions to you are..

Was the extension a good idea?

Does the extension look roughly the correct height in regards to 1/35 scale and the figures etc?

And a bit of a long shot here but.. have any of you worked with the Miniart street & building accessories sets? My my concern is that some items may seem somewhat out of scale? Especially the doors

All constructive comments welcome and would be glad to hear your thoughts! Please do bear in mind that this is in very early stages of development and details are still to come, but the composition has to be perfect first.

All the best,

Josh
