Hi,

The last of the new boards in the reshuffle, this one allows for content on things that float, as the title suggests.  What I have in mind here are things like bridging equipment, Landing Craft, the Riverine craft of Vietnam, Russian river gunboats of WW2 and the likes of the E-Boat and MTB (maybe even 1/72 subs) as kits are available.  It just makes them easier to find than mixed in with everything else.

Bridging equipment is interesting I think and this offers an opportunity to identify it clearly.

Of course, if you like carriers and other bigger ships feel free, though I'd expect those to be on more specialist naval sites.

Again, given time let's see how it goes.

Robin,

Well done.

It's about time this site included boats/ships etc. After all, it was the Navy (Mercahnt and Royal) who rescued the British Expeditionary Force from the beaches of Dunkirk in May 1940. It was the same Navy who took the Allies back to France in June 1944. In both cases the Senior British Naval Officer was the same man - Bertram Ramsey.

How about the good old Combat Engineer Tractor, it does float although if your water jets get blocked you swim in circles...... Crayfish block water jets.

This could be quite a good forum, although I am wondering how big a LCT would be in 1/35?

On a serious note if people want help with Bailey Pontoon bridges (and Uniflote), give me a shout.

Nice one Robin!

Hi Robin,
This is a good idea. I have been stockpiling kits and materials for several months
with the intentions of recreating the St. Nazaire sub bunker in 1/72 scale . Now I know where  to post it .

Hi Mike,
The LCT 4 is far too big for me, however the Mk 6 (here) seems that it might be a bit friendlier for modelling, you could actually build this...... no the madness the madness!

I have seen the Accurate Armour is a wonderful kit, but £490 is quite a lot, plus 9 Shermans, with upgrades, and crew figures....

Regards

I'll post just this one pic of my current non-AFV project, ships in 1/350th are my other modelling interest, although, as you can see, there are a couple of military trucks visible All scratch built with the exception of the ship itself, the vehicles and the figures.
