Tamiya and Gunze will mix very well together if thoroughly mixed. The paint is further thinned with 30% Tamiya Thinners for airbrushing.

ISO and Tamiya thinners feel and smell the same and have similar characteristics but I do think the Tamiya thinners (although much more expensive than a $1.99 litre bottle of ISO) is a much better product and does provide better results.

~Mark~ Word around the watercooler is that Tamiya thinner IS Isopropyl alcohol with a tiny amount of Tamiya retarder added (a retarder that was rumored to be available seperately by now but I have not seen offered for sale any place)   --This additive may account for your "better results" I'd imagine.. I would hope if anyone knows of the Tamiya retarder becoming available they would create a thread saying from where

Hello Mark,

I am afraid I have come late to this one as I have been too busy enjoying the sunshine! I have to say it's another Bannerman masterpiece, lovely work!!

Beautiful weather and all my other hobbies and activities have kept me away from the modelling bench. However, I did manage to sneak in a few hours in last night with some pin-washes using oils and filters with enamels. Gives it just enough of a gritty surface to begin the wet and dry pastel treatment.

Very nice Mark!  It is so pretty and clean that it could be on the Local War Lords showroom floor!
