Nice job Sean, you were right to make those minor smoothing-the-curve changes.

I'm liking the looks of that camo Sean, the colours will be great under some weathering

Thanks Guys.

Today we started adding some basic highlights and shadows.

Firstly an all over misting of Tamiya Buff, heavily thinned with tamiya thinners.  Concentrating mainly within panels.

And then heavily thinned Tamiya Smoke along panel lines.  This is a gloss finish (I don't know why) but that doesn't matter as soon some Future will be going on for the washes.

And then dots, applied with a fine tipped brush.

Hi Sean , great progress, the camo looks brilliant now . I like that idea of using Smoke on the panel lines ,that seems to work well.

Thanks guys.

Chris, this is the first time I've tried using smoke for post shading, but I think it's a technique I will persue.  I think pre-shading will work well with a monotone scheme, but where subsequent colours are added in blocks (like on this tank) the pre-shade will not show through the second and third colours.  So post shading has to be the way to go.  Black can be too heavy, but smoke is designed to be translucent, so it seemed the logical choice.

I lost the chuck not for my airbrush needle on Wednesday, but thankfully the Airbrush Company got ont to me today, so I can carry on this weekend.
