Hi Guys

After considerable discussion in Robin''s seperate thread and much encouragement from various members here, I have decided to blog this kit, as I had per chance purchased it while on holiday in Cape Town recently.

As you may or may not know, this is the recently released Kinetic kit, but reboxed and provided with a stunning decal sheet printed by Cartograf, which to me is always a guarantee of quality.

There seems to have been quite a discussion about the price of the boxing by Italeri and as I understand it, in the UK, it sells for GBP60, which is a lot dearer than Kinetic. Here in SA, the kinetic kits are just about impossible to obtain and when you can they are quite expensive too, so for me this is the cheaper and better option....

To see Robin''s review of the kit, please go to Prowler and the spue shots will be visible there.

Boxart....

The 5 color options are provided for. I am at this moment tending towards either the USN option B of VAQ-135 "Black Ravens" USS Carl Vinson 1998 or option E, USMC WMAQ-2 "Death Jesters" MCAS Cherry Point, 1990.

These are the refernces I''ll be using.......

2 different copies of Military Aircraft Monthly which feature the Prowler. This is a reference magazine that I rate very highly.

Although this book is not EA-6B intensive it does deal with the entire A-6 family from the base aircraft, to the tanker version, the EA-6A as well as the EA-6B......and there are many parts that are common on the airframes, so I can glean something from it.

So there we are guys, the basic plan of action is laid down, and I''ll get an update in tomorrow.

Thanks for being here and I hope you''ll enjoy this one!

Regards
Tony
