Hi all,

Just for a slight change of pace, I've decided to have a go at an aeroplane. I looked at the lovely but expensive (and I make no comments about this!!!)Tamiya P51 Mustang, as well as the Trumpeter F6 Hellcat, both in 1/32nd scale. However, when browsing my local internet provider, I came across the Hasegawa 1/32nd scale K1 84 Frank. I decided to do a little research, and found that for a brief time in 1944 over Burma, the Allied air supremacy once enjoyed by the USAAC was lost to the Frank, when in skilled hands, could out perform the Mustang and losses of Mustangs increased. However, poor materials and a tendancy for the under carriage to break when landing, coupled with poor quality pilots, soon saw normal order restored.

My model will be one of those camaflaged aircraft, with the home defence white bands. I shall, however, be experimenting with flaked paint, so any advice given would be really appreciated. Also, I shall be using Alclad2 paints, so some serious polishing and careful painting is required. I also intend to paint most of the marking, so again, careful application is required!

Due to life's demands, I shall be starting this model in the next week or so. So wish me luck! Oh, by the way, the plastic seat provided will HAVE to go as it bears no resemblance to the real thing!
