The Stalinetz Tractor
The infamous and ungainly wood-powered version! The SG-65 was an example of brilliant invention and desperation. Several countries resorted to so-called gas-powered vehicles when fuel supplies ran short or were being sent only to front line units. With over 7000 built and fielded, this machine was a significant version of this tractor.
In this sort of system, wood would be kept burning at hot [and specific] temperatures in a low-oxygen environment inside the large boiler. The gasogen worked well with proper attendance, but was a bit tricky even still, and vehicles so equiped did lack in the ponies.
Libor has been working on this (yet another conversion for the Trumpy S-65 kit), soon to be released [you may have caught the line about it at the bottom of the engine kit instructions ] I will have some parts very soon and be started, which will involve some cutting away of the floor - changing out of the fuel tank and driver's seat - as well as [again!] the radiator, as well as some different plumbing, etc.
[[Don't put it past me to put a few of these aboard an LZ Models Russian 20t railcar !]

Another thing-----the big dozer blade-----
Another add-on Libor is getting going on and I would really love to have in time for this build

Anyways...we start the conversion with the terrific new ChTZ S-65 from Trumpeter

and the beautiful engine set from LZ Models

MORE add-ons coming later

OK-----breaking ground soon-like------watch this space, spacedudes

Hi Adam
Definitely pulled up a chair. As Ross says interesting and unusual. This will certainly be another entertaining and informative blog in the unique Kuller Style. It will be very interesting to see the work and thinking needed to marry the Trumpeter kit with Libor's additions.

Interesting subject Adam but one I am sure you will tackle in your usual manor. Did it have a tender, like the old steam engines, to carry the wood needed?
Gaz.

Gaz~ Hi, Good to have you drop in and {very early on]
A tender? Good question. one we will have to sort out. I had this idea the tractor's fuel tank is replaced with a wood cabinet---not sure about it yet though

If I was a betting man.... ....... I would have laid bets on this being your next build. Some great opportunities for weathering bud. Especially around that engine. Front seat booked sir.
