Helloteeth 2

I have something of a weakness for model buildings, particularly rural examples.

This kit has been languishing in my stash for too long so I decided to get it out, blow the dust off it and build it as and when I get timecrook So this will not be a blog, rather updates on the build.

Here's what's in the box:

The walls went together nicely with only a little filler required here and therethumbs up The rustic gate caught my attention and during a careful clean-up I noticed that there are not just nail holes, but you can see the nail headsdisgust
My innate clumsiness struck again as I was cleaning up the beautifully sculpted bolt and I broke itembarrassed Rather than stick it back together the voices in my head suggested it would be a good idea to make the bolt and hinges workable, so that's what I did with brass rod and copper strip:

The gate does actually work at present, I'm not so sure about when it is painted though....dont know

Well that's it for now, as usual comments criticism and general abuse are always welcomewink 2smile p

Regards
Mike

Hi Mike,

I have a soft spot for country buildings and living in France there are many, I'm living in onecrook. I'll be keeping a close eye on this build to see how you get on with it.

When I'm out and about I take my camera with me taking photographs of the old buildings, some in disrepair as its a good guid for dio building plus I'm photograhing the old advertising that was Painted on building walls here, some of the are work is quite exceptional.

Cheers Mikedog

Looks very good indeed, sirthumbs up. My recent experience of France suggests that you need some scale antsteeth. Lots of themdevil. Vast armies of themfist.

Looks forward to seeing some paint on thisthumbs up. Work the gate for a while after painting to maintain mobility? Then add a little metal / shiny wood as needed for the parts exposed by doing that?

Cheers

Timcat

As I had the airbrush out, I gave it a solid coat of Tamiya XF59 Desert Yellow:
