Hellooooooooo men of mil mod.emotion

This time round i'm gonna try my luck with Hasegawa's brilliant kit of the U.S navy's F-18 F Super Hornet.I blogged this kit on mil mod a few years ago now and thoroughly enjoyed it,so i reckon its for a re visit.

I think my modelling skills have improved since i last built this kit so i should be able to make an improvement on the F-18 i bult before. The kit won't be built OOTB as i'm going to add a resin cockpit, resin exhausts and some Fighter town decals.

The box photo.

Sprue shots.

The clear parts, the canopy has broken from the sprue but suffered no damage..........phewwww.

Fightertown decals.

An aires cockpit.

And lastly a very nice reference book.

neil.

Hi Ross same as above.thumbs up

Wouter gotta agree with you the Super Hornet is one stunning looking aircraft.teeth 2

Keith alright mate,U.S navy fast jets are my favourite modelling subject.smile d

The fitting of the Aires cockpit is the first job on the list, this requires the removal of the front part of the cockpit were the HUD would be mounted. The resin part sits slightly over the top of the styrene and may require a very small amount of putty.

In the picture below you can see that the resin side walls have been sanded and the sides of the styrene have also had the same.

All the resin parts have had their blocks removed this was done with a fine toothed saw.
