Haha i have been starting on the spartans eyes; tricky stuff and as always there are four lettered words that can describe how difficult painting eyes is. Will do a little more tonight. Have heard a wonderful little trick using gloss varnish... :-\ now all i need is some...:'( Dem |

281 forum posts 156 photos | hiya all! So finally i have completed the eyes. Here is how i started, with the whites, actually an off white.
not bad, and the simpelest part next came the deep brown(iris) and centering of the eye balls.....
to be fair this took ages!! i used a few watered down brown coats to get the shape, trying to get a circle tnot hit the bottom eye lid this i important.
Next came the pupil and detailing, this envolved a tiny black dot...and theres me thinking 1/10 eyes where going to be a bigger space.... but finally, with a little dot in each to indicate light (top left or top right of iris)... also on an interesting arty farty note, the pupil is located(inline) at the corner of the mouth(left/right)
really chuffed but bloody heck three days and the old spartan looks well a bit grey still haha!
hoping my step by step will help others, as normally i would not bother with eyes on smaller scale and always wanted to give it a go. |

Hey that's lookin mean Dem. Don't his eyes remind you of Arnie?
Thanks for the pointers - looked at my reflection now and by golly you're right about the pupils lining up with the corners of the mouth
Maybe with enough decal juice he'll look less grey? Keep up the good work mate Dean |

Very high standard of work! Alpha+ We may not all be equally great at everything, but do I rate your figure work in the top bracket? I do!
Much more of a barnet than another famous Spartan, Telly Savallas! Pip pip! Pincis |
