Hi Guys and welcome to my first blog.

For my first one I'm going to go right out of my comfort zone and try some new things and stuff I don't normally enjoy doing i.e. figures or boats, but I'm all for something different.

I got the idea for this build from watching a great re-run of Saving Private Ryan.

So here we go, hope you enjoy.smiley

I'm using the Italeri LCM landing craft this comes with six US Rangers and three crew, also using MB US Infantry and Dragon US 29th Infantry Divison, which are the same guys that come with the landing craft but I'll be changing a few of the stances.

also a few items from the spares box

Thanks guys and welcome aboard,

Simon, I hope it's going to be fun as I'm planning on doing about 20 figures crying as I mentioned earlier, I don't enjoy the figures as much as vehicles.

Well lets see what is in the box,

Hi Taff

I'm in. It is going to need a big base. How long is that landing craft - must be around 18 inches on its own.

Hello Taff

This is a daring project to undertake---and a worthy idea. A lot of challenges in this one---I saw one of a similar set-up from Jose Brito that was really inspiring. Good luck and I'm watching

You're right there Jim it's 20 inches with the ramp down and going to be about 30 inches all together, I've already cleared a space on the shelf for itwink

Started already with the bottom of the LCM and the deck, sorry if I don't get all the boat terms correct I was a driver in the corps smiley it seems to be a straight forward build nothing to difficult, had to use some clamps for the bottom as it was spring open and leaving a few gaps, still isn't a perfect fit but I can tidy that up once it's dry.

Hi Adam, I have seen Joses build and some other excellent builds he's done, my build is a 1/35 scale, which I do prefer, I think Joses is 1/72 but could be wrong, when I was searching around for ideas there seemed to be alot of these done in different dio's.
