Ahoi ther land lovers!

Well, shiver my timbers, is it really time for the 3rd Phase already? Feels like just yesterday I posted asking about interest in a proposed BGB and I was pleasantly suprised at how many people agreed it was a good idea

On a personal note I must apologise for my absence. I started a new job in April which turning out to be taking up much more of my time than I anticipated, in fact I went from being lowly Customer Service Rep to actually being in charge of CS for operations in the UK and Germany!

Anyway excuses aside I find myself with very little time on my hands and the few precious moments I do have I have been spending outside in the woods (Eat your heart out Ray Mears :P) to compensate for my windowless office

So, without further stalling I declare the floaty part of the BGB open!

Rules are simple:

You MUST be a beginner in the field - in this case boaty things!

.....

Well, thats it actually! Any scale, any subject, any material and any era.

This phase will start from the 1st of July and continue until the end of September.

You may un-veil your choices now but don't be building until the first

I sincerely hope all of you are well and are getting plenty of bench time in

All the best,

Nick

Hello Nick,

Last time I heard from you, you were on your way to walk the soles off your shoes. I hope that went well. Congrats on the new position.thumbs up

I have my floaty on my bench ready to go, and should post a pic soon. Work, however, is conspiring to keep me away from any modeling. Have had 1 day off the last 8 weeks. The joys of being self employed (and not able to say NO!). Well, there are 3 months to go and hopefully time will become available. I do look forward to seeing what develops on this phase of the BGB, as the Wingy build was a hoot.

Cheers!

BB

Howdy Bob,

Thanks mate, The job is great but like I say it keeps me busy! Better pay and less free time, a modellers worst nightmare!

Good memory too! I've still to do the walk which I why there hasn't been any pictures yet, but I'll take lots and make a little report if anyones interested Actually you're also the last person to have donated too, damned decent of you sir thumbs up

If anyone wants any pictures of any sites or vehicles please let me know and I will try my best (make a donation and I guarantee I'll get them so you get more than just a good feeling when you donate

Hope all are well,

Nick

Nick,

I have been looking for a reason to build this:-smithouston.jpg

I got it cheap in TKMaxx. I think it was only £7.

When I saw it my intention was to show it as a rusted wreck. and this is probably where I will go with it still as it means I can have some fun with the ol' hairspray technique.

Can I join in?

Shaun

Hey Shaun,

I would very much like to see how this turns out, I have an inexplicable fascination with wrecks and forgotten abandoned stuff !

I've always said aslong as you consider yourself to be a beginner in the chosen subject your more than welcome to join in and I'd be willing to bet that I'm not the only one who would love to see you do this

So I'd say if you consider yourself to be a "Nautical noobie" (As opposed to just a noobie like me :P)
then welcome aboard matey!

Bargain by the way, never thought to look in TKMaxx!

All the best,

Nick

Ahoy Nick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have kept a very low profile indeed, but congrats on the job. Shift+R improves the quality of this image. Shift+A improves the quality of all images on this page.

You can't imagine the enthusiasm for Phase 3, so much so there was hell of a rush to start nearly a month ago.

I will be joining in late in July as on holiday in Egypt as we speak, though as I am 'connected' will be watching progress. Bench time will of necessity commence 21 July though a floaty kit is hopefully sitting in Q8 customs as I type, according to the ARAMEX trace.

I have a very vague recollection of making a mess of a small Airfix destroyer? as a 7? year-old, so with a 50 year absence of moggling a boat of any description I believe I qualify!

Aye aye!

Hey Harvey,

I must admit my visits to this fine forum have been rather sporadic of late !

Just seen the other thread , and was somewhat confused at the post count on it, seems we're on the same wave length when it comes to naming threads :P

I must say I'd rather be able to moggle than be in Egypt right now, Just finished for the day, never had a job that requires extracurricular input before, never mind this much!

I look forward to seeing what you get up to with your floaty kit , I'd say your well qualified :P

All the best,

Nick

I didn't see Harveys thread so I named it what I thought would be appropriate, little did I know he has a chrystal ball next to his PC!

Sorry to confuse!
