And with spells of good weather in between showers, here he goes...

Sorry, I should have lightened these pics up - he isn't as dark a beast in reality.

For the record, Colours (all revell) were Sand (36116), a 2:1 mix of light blue (quite greenish) (36149) and medium blue (as for cockpit details) (36150), though the latter should probably be 3:1.

Next on is hairspray, then the green camo patterns. I've never done a camo pattern before so using the bluetack to mask her off will be interesting. Any tips?

Great progress Perry looking forward to more.thumbs up

As for tips with the blu-tac;

1. Keep the rolls nice & even & thin.

2. If a patch doesn't go right as you apply it, remove it and try again. Persevere and don't leave it if you are not happy with it.

3. Most of all take your time and then when you spray over it, light coats from a 70-90 degree angle so you get that nice soft edge to the cam.

4. Don't be tempted to let it dry in the sun. The blu-tac gets very sticky and can leave you with a nightmare of a clean up job. (I've done this and it is not fun)

5. Remove the masking as soon as you can to prevent any slight staining from the blu-tac. If this occurs it is not a huge problem, just a bit of an unnecessary pain in the rear.

This is what can be achieved; blu-tac and Tamiya spray cans...

Really nice work Perry. As for the camo, don't listen to Timsmile p use thin rolls of blu-tac to create the patterns and fill in the gaps with masking tape. Use light passes of the AB and build up the layers so you don't lose any pre-shading (easier said than done). best of luck with it.

Pete

Andy's post came in whilst I was still typing. You won't go wrong with his advice. Awesome work Andy.

Love that chopper Andy. What scale is that one?

I'll give the blu-tac a go (when I can find it).

I've put him in the back room, out of the sun.

Fingers crossed everyone.

Thanks Perry, it is the 1/35th Trumpeter HIND E, featured in the magazine last year. A brilliant kit if you get the chance to lay your hands on one.

That masking looks spot onthumbs up & you should find it works a treat. Obviously be careful removing it so it doesn't pull off any bits. (forgot to mention that earlier.)

Looking forward to the big reveal...
