Hi guys

Does anyone buy from Luckymodel?

If so how do you find them? I've had an order waiting for some photoetch now for 2 months and the order status still hasn't changed, time to cancel?

Find them very good Eoin, out of interest did the item say 'Available' or 'In Stock'?

If the former you normally need to wait on it coming up as in stock before they can send it out.

Hello Eoin,

I too buy from Lucky Model, if it's declared as 'available' that means they are ordering it and it can take time, however they will deliver. Delivery can vary but it depends on what it is. E Bay can prove useful - two sellers are very good. Funnyolddog - Hong Kong based I've had stuff within 4 days and Dawngrocerystore - around 9 days.

Regards

Brian

Eoin.

I'll second everything Brian says in his reply to you.......I've bought from all the stores he mentions with no problems, including Luckymodel.....All reputable IMHO. thumbs up

Richard.

I used lucky model a few months ago to buy an etch mate that was available status. I didn't know what it meant at the time so bought it thinking I would receive at the usual time but alas I had to wait months to the point that I was gonna cancel but finally the order showed as sent and indeed a few days later I received my item. So hang in there, you'll get it eventually

My experience with LM has been variable Eoin, and not always good

A few years ago I ordered a lot from them and ordered a track set. when it arrived only half the sprues were in the box. I contacted them and they said they would order the extra sprues

A couple of months later nothing; so I asked for a refund. They said I couldn't have one; they would get the parts and I 'should be patient'. I didn't like being told two months was impatient and asked for my refund, they offered store credit. after a few days of to and froing they finally refunded the value of the set

Lately I decided maybe I was just unlucky and tried them again for a set of track and a turned barrel. after a couple of weeks I noticed my items were now listed as 'available' I emailed them to ask if I could cancel my order as it looks like it wasn't coming. they said it WAS stock (available usually means it isn't but they can get it to order) and that it was about to be posted. The next day I got notification that it had been sent

However, nearly three weeks later and it hasn't arrived. bear in mind Hong Kong is now only half as far away from me as it was when I lived in the UK

I use Hobbyeasy regularly and in future if they don't have what I want I will ask them if they can get it. I doubt I will order from LM again. I know others love them, but for me they have proved to be unreliable and sometimes very slow

5 weeks delivery time to California on items they claimed "In Stock"

both times I tried them

Also required a signature [I wasnt home for]

But

there was some savings to be had and huge selection----not bad if only growing the stash

No problems with LM to Dubai, providing "In Stock" - I avoid "Available" items as the time frame is uncertain.

I use HobbyEasy who clearly show "In Stock" items and delivery is quick. They are generally a dollar or so more for shipping (to Dubai), but have some great "promotions" which seem to run for a long time. Paints seem to be a poor area for stock, but kits and AM stuff, can't fault them.

buy with confidence

been using them for 8 years or so i think now

if it says available, either search elsewhere or email them first - they will respond (or at least have to me) promptly; they have good english speakers there

also, watch out for their sales: the best prices i have seen for 1/35 armour and 1/32 aircraft eg Tamiya P-51 $95 shipped (airmail) to UK during their airmail for $2 period...needless to say i was skint at the time, but you get the picture

hope it works out

Nick

Many thanks for all the replies guys.

It was/is still listed as available, which I didn't think was too much of an issue when I put the order in, but 2 months later....hmm.

I have ordered from the Ebay 'dawngrocery' 'funnyolddog ' etc from China,HK, Korea and Taiwan and must admit never had any issues.

The order is for some 1:48 Hauler PE, which in the past I ordered from Lou Stener, but the new site owners don't have it in stock hence the LM order, first time I'd used LM. Will look at Hobbyeasy in future also.

Thanks again.
