Hi

I was hoping one of the resident experts could identify the uniforms these FJ are wearing - Italy Jan '44.

After that any suggestions on available figures would be welcomed. cheeky

Although it's hard to tell from this particular photo, and it's not quite my area of alleged expertise, the figure at the back center sweems to be wearing the Luftwaffe M44 feldbluse. If it is indeed a photo from January it might nix that notion as I'm unsure exactly when the M44 came into circulation....

Cheers,

Ian

Certainly January '44. Shot in Orsogna after the New Year's Day snowfall.

They don't look like FJ smocks, though they are certainly FJ.

Hi Perry,

Luftwaffe is not my area, but most of them appear to be wearing the Luftwaffe Fliegerbluse which was first issued as the M35.
I hope this helpsteeth 2

Mike

Quite right, they are not smocks, but feldbluse. Everyone in the photo, with the exception of figure back/center seem to be wearing the M43 feldbluse, the exception seems to be wearing the M44. It may actually have been issued late '43 which could make it possible for New Years day. It was the standard issue uniform for Luftwaffe field divisions.

But.... I'm not any sort of LW expert. Someone else here in MilMod should be able to give a more definitive answer.

Cheers !

Ian

Thanks Andy. Most of those figures appear to be wearing smocks while the guys in the photo don't (at least to my eyes). Those figures that aren't wearing smocks have camo tops and again the ones in the pics don't appear to be camo to my eyes. If the tops come in plain they may be OK. The dude at the back of 6005 could be closer...

Mike, I'll look up thee fliegerbluse. Have you seen any figures wearing same?

Cheers

Perry

Hi Perry,

The Dragon set 6368 springs to mind:

and I think Tristar made a set wearing the same uniform. They may be other poses available from resin manufacturers.

Mike

These appear to be the right ones. Ian/Mike can you confirm?
