Vision Models is a new manufacturer on me, I think this is only their second 1/35 injection moulded plastic model.  The Russian BA-64 was the one armoured car designed and built in Russia wholly within the wartime period.  Designed in 1941 and production starting early in 1942, this one is actually the later BA-64B.  The original BA-64 was built on the chassis of the GAZ 64 field car, and the multi-faceted armoured body heavily influenced by a captured Sdkfz 221.  Over 3200 of the BA-64 were built, as light recconaissance vehicles, and later over 5000 of the BA-64B were built, based on the improved GAZ 67 field car chassis, with a wider wheeltrack.

The kit is not a complex one, and of course is quite a small armoured vehicle.  There are 2 main sprues, plus separate tyres (hard plastic moulding though) plus the upper and lower hull halves.  Inside there is the steering wheel, the drivers seat and the inner mounting/cradle for the small asymetrical turret with its' machine gun armament.  Chassis and transmission are all there, so you could model it with the two large side doors open if you wanted to and maybe follow Chris's lead and think about adding more interior detailing.  There are some ejection pin marks and some odd extra plugs of plastic you need to clean away within the hull (you can see these in the photos) but generally this looks like it will be a simple enough build as it is.  A number of markings options are provided for, though all have the plain green colour scheme, and the markings are all in white (hence the photo of the transfers is not good, as it is white printing on a white background!)

For those who want to go further, there were a number of variants on this so a series of conversions is very possible.  You could do an APC, a command car or maybe ones up-gunned with the big Russian PTRD anti-tank rifle, or the 12.7mm 'DShK'.  If you want a reference for these other variants, and more details about interior stowage, then try and check out the book 'Russian Armoured Cars, 1930-2000' by James Kinnear and published by Darlington productions in 2000.

This new kit from Vision Models (who are based in Taiwan) was passed on to us by Bronco Models, so we don't have any other website to refer you to I'm afraid, and thanks to Bronco for sending this on.  If Vision Models are going to make interesting models like this,, it will be interesting to see what appears next.
