...just out from Revell
.jpg)
Here is something that will be good news to many small scale fans, as Revell have released their all new 1/72 model of the Sdkfz 7 half track. Ideal to go with their equally excellent model of the 88mm Flak 36, this is the best injection moulded plastic kit of the Sdkfz 7 to date in my view. My next task is to assemble this one, but from first glance it is delightful. Good chassis detail and the interleaved roadwheels are done with the rear wheels moulded in one piece, then add the outers. Then something different from their usual style, the tracks are provided as injection moulded but in one single strip that you soften in warm water, then wrap around the running gear and fix in place. It looks like it should work well, but that is my next task to try out.
Detail of the winch drum is included under the chassis, even the rifles for the crew are included to mount in their racks behind the seats. For the rear ammunition bins, the doors can be left open, and inside are the ends of the shells in their racks. This will make up into an excellent model I am sure. There is also the option of a full tilt or one folded down, enough to make me want to go and get another so I can do both.
There are four marking options provided for, with a choice in colour schemes therefore. You can see what these are illustrated in the album below. All round a super new release in my view.
Our thanks to Revell UK for our example
