...a new resin model from Milicast

What do you get is you take thee turret off a Daimler and Armoured Car and fit command radios?....A SOD, or Sawn Off Daimler. These were a real-life conversion, when the turret was removed and equipment put into the hull to produce a new COmmand variant of the well used Daimler, and the front mudguards removed as well.
Now Milicast have released one of these in their range of fine 1/76 resin models. The hull is in one piece, and there was a bit of a moulding plug that needed to be removed from the underside. I did that with a power tool outside in the garden and wearing a breathing mask, as you don't want to breathe in resin dust produced from this process, and wash you hands carefully afterwards. It did do the job neatly and quickly though. To be honest, it wasn't over thick, and being underneath you might consider just leaving it to save having the problem.
Also included is a good set of stowage items to fit on the rear deck and rear mudguards, just a steering wheel to fit inside the hull, plus the 4 wheels and a spare to go on the side. The moulding was all cleanly done, just some basic clean-up and then a relatively quick assembly job. It's resin, so a coat of primer prior to main paintwork and markings. It is avaailable now.
My thanks to Tom Welsh at Milicast for our example
