Revell 1/76 Japanese Infantry

What with Airfix re-releasing their 1/76 Chi-Ha, and Dragon doing a number of 1/72 Japanese tanks, then the timing on this new release from Revell is about right.  Actualy is is a re-release, as these are the soft plastic style figures, and are scaled as 1/76 as it is an old figure set from Matchbox, now owned by Revell of course.  Even the Matchbox brand name is still found on the sprues.  Moulded in the old style soft plastic, so paint can easily come away from guns, swords and the like.  However, built into a diorama and not handled, these will do quite well.  Details on general anatomy, along with the details in the uniforms and equipment has come out pretty well.

A good variety of stances, with prone, kneeling, standing and running figures all included.  A couple of tripod mounted machine guns and I rather like the troopers with the Japanese flag sixed to their rifles.  Designed primarily for children as playthings, they are equally good for wargaming and can be used in dioramas quite happily.

Our thanks to Revell here in the UK for our example.
