Marc built this 1/35 Eland 90

This is a South African armoured car built following the French Panhard and is a resin kit produced in South Africa and appropriately built by one of our South African based members, Marc Cilliers.  Though the blog finished some time ago it has taken a bit of time to organise the photos of the end result and my thanks to Marc for sending them through.  As hinted at in the title, in service these were referred to as 'Noddy Cars'.

The build is of the Aerografix Creative Models 1/35 resin kit which we reviewed here last year (there is a link to that below) and for those who want a reminder of Marc's progress, or if you missed it first time round, there is also a link to his blog of the build as well. It makes a change to see a South African armour subject modelled here.  As well as the kit as about the same time, I was interested to see an Eland 60, with a different and smaller turret ,on display at War and Peace last year, so one has even made it here to the shores of the UK.  It makes for a more unusual subject for a model, and I am sure you will join me in thanking Marc for the build and congratulating him on the end result.
