Introduction

The glory of the Danish military forces! Oh Yes! That Black over green camouflage is the signature of one of Scandinavian's finest military land forces. It is also one of my favorites of paint schemes. I'm no expert in Danish military history or modern vehicles but it seems I am about to get a gist of what this nation's proud military force is all about.

This book covers the Danish military army and its land forces spanning the last 15 years in a concise and short summary. It is a time span well worth knowing for those enthusiasts.

Contents

The contents of this publication are quite straight forward. The first couple of pages, between 2 and 10, to be exact, concentrate on a small portion of historical facts about Denmark. From falling into the hands of the German Reich, to rising to an independent country, which made a foot-print in becoming one of the original founders of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in 1949.

The information presented above is given in moderate rations which make for light reading. This makes it easier to digest, for those not too concern about going too deep into the historical facts. The rest of the pages, between 11 and 64, features vehicles used by the Danish army. There are too many to list, so I will list only a few to tease your taste buds.

These are just a few, so know what to expect. Along each picture are short descriptions of the vehicle which lets the reader know a little about that particular vehicle and its present situation when the picture was taken. The Danish large variety of vehicles is like a spice rack of military technology, both old and modern. Trucks seem to almost dominate their pool of many wheel vehicles, and beautiful trucks to say the least. There are roughly about 10 hardskin armor vehicle compared to their huge collection of softskin armament presented in this book.

Regardless of that, the many pictures provided will give an overall view of their vehicle land armor, the reason why the book was written in the first place.

Conclusion

Overall, the book shows Tankograd trademark of mixing both German & English and still be able to dish out a well organized layout reference book for modelers. What I've always liked best about Tankograd is the many pictures they always seem to provide with their publication. For me, pictures say a thousand and one words.

If you're interested in Danish armory and want a reasonable amount of reference material and/or information about Danish vehicles, then this will suffice. Let me stress that, this is not a walk-around book showing detail areas of any vehicle. It is simply an overall view of the Danish land forces, just like the title states. If you want close up walk-around details then look elsewhere.

Regardless of your intentions, this book will provide you with the insight of the various land vehicles that the Danish military uses. That is what, this book is all about.
