...a full set from Zvezda

We have seen a good number of the small sets of wargames figures/units from Zvezda over the last coupe of years. These have usually only had four or five figures in. The latest to come out though is this one, a full Soviet Infantry platoon of 1943 (the era of Kursk) with 38 figures in the set. This therefore includes officers and NCOs, and all done in the hard plastic which is so much better for small figures in my view.
The main sprue has 3 copies of it in the box and this gives you the bulk of the figures, each with a separate, individual base. Then a smaller fourth sprue with thee specific individuals, such as the Lieutenant in command. Uniform and weapon detail is very nicely done, and many of the figures have separate arms to fit into pace. Rifleman, machine gunners and even snipers are included, as this is apparently taken from the basic platoon organization for the period. The box art suggests Kursk, being a significant successful engagement for the Russians in 1943, and an obvious one for a wargamer to want to try. I am really pleased to to see Zvezda turn their hands to this larger set of figures, and think they've done it very well. Personally I am keen to see what they follow this up with along the same lines, but one has to assume a German infantry set would be a logical choice.
