WWII Ordnance Illustrated, Issue V

This is the second of two issues for this quarterly magazine published by Armor Plate Press in the USA which I have now had a look at. There are four particular feature articles with informative text and some useful archive photos.  As indicated on the cover, one feature looks at the huge KV-2, and has an excellent set of archice shots to go with it.

Then an article on US Rifle Grenade launchers, a topic I knew little detail about and another on the Reising sub-machine gun, a contemporary of the Thompson, and one I had not conciously known of before.  Used by the US Marines during the war it was not popular, though went on to be used by various US Police departments after the war which is also covered in the article.

Finaally, and again a level of detail I don't remember seeing before, some good coverage of the Japanese 47mm Anti-Tank gun Type 1.  It is good to read more about som of the Japanese equipment of WW2, a topic that I think modellers have to some extent overlooked over the years.
