How to Make a Nuclear Reactor?
Nuclear power plants use nuclear reactors as the core component to produce electricity by harnessing the energy released from the reaction of nuclear fission, a process in which heavy atomic nuclei split into smaller nuclei. Building a functional nuclear reactor requires a substantial amount of expertise, costly equipment, and adherence to strict safety protocols. Initial Planning and Design
Before constructing the reactor, a thorough and detailed planning and design stage is necessary. This includes evaluating the site layout, material selection, architectural design, and safety engineering.
- Conduct environmental and geological impact assessments
- Chose suitable materials for primary and secondary cooling systems, fuel pellets, and moderating and reflecting materials (e.g., graphite and water)
- Design reactor containment building or pool to ensure structural strength and minimize radiation leakage (1)

- Configure fuel assembly including fuel pins, claddings, and control elements ([4])
