How to Make a Minecraft Gun
Minecraft is a popular sandbox-style video game that allows players to build and explore different worlds. While the game doesn’t have a formal gun system, players have found ways to create makeshift guns and other weapons to aid in their survival. In this article, we’ll go over the steps to create a basic gun in Minecraft.
Materials Needed:
Before you start making your gun, you’ll need to gather the right materials. You’ll need:
- 6 Gold Ingots
- 3 Sticks
- 2 Pistons
- 1 Redstone Component (such as a Comparator or a Redstone Comparator)
- 1 Glass Pane
- 2 Redstone Dust
- 1 Sticky Piston
Step 1: Crafting the Gun Trigger
The first step is to craft the gun trigger. You’ll need to open your crafting table and follow these steps:
- Craft a Stick x3
- Craft Gold Ingots into Gold Ingot Arrays (1 Gold Ingot = 9 Ingots)
- Place one Gold Ingot in the middle row of your crafting table, surrounded by the three Sticks
This will create your gun trigger, which you’ll use to fire the gun.
Step 2: Crafting the Piston
The next step is to craft the pistons that will propel your gun’s bullet. Follow these steps:
- Craft 2 Pistons x2**
- Place both Pistons on the side of the crafting table
These will be used to create your gun’s action.
Step 3: Building the Gun Mechanism
Now it’s time to build the mechanism that connects the trigger to the piston. Follow these steps:
- Build a square with a half-block width and one block height on the side of the block
- Place two Pistons on the sides of the square, one block below the second row**
- Remove the top of the square to create a flat surface
This will act as the gun handle.
Step 4: Building the Chamber
The chamber is where you’ll store the bullet, which will be propelled through the gun by the pistons. Follow these steps:
- Build a small box with dimensions 2 blocks length, 2 blocks width, and 5 blocks height
- Place Glass on the top half of the box and Sticky Piston on the first row from the bottom**
- Install Redstone Dust on the sides** of the box
The redstone dust will conduct the power to the chamber, and the glass will keep the ball inside.
Step 5: Firing the Gun
Finally, connect the trigger to the pistol mechanism using the following:
- Add Glass on top of Pistons which will create the moving part**
- Position the gun handle (square) next to it
- Connect one Redstone Dust with the Glass under the piston moving part
The gold ingot array needs to be aligned with a Redstone Component to power the circuit.
How the Gun Functions:
The gun consists of the trigger, pistons, which are connected by piston moving part, redstone dust to conduct current, and sticky piston below the chamber, as well glass around the handle. When the trigger clicks, the current flows back to the gun, discharging the gun and opening the piston’s action from the bottom side. There is no visible projectile created, but if you change the bullet shape to contain the projectile.
